Beatles items go on the block in Toronto

“TORONTO – Beatles fans will get a chance to buy a piece of the band’s history on Dec. 15 in Toronto.
Auction house Empire Auctions is holding a sale of rock memorabilia, including some items that are being touted as rare.
Chief among those is a 45 of the single Love Me Do with the red-and-silver Parlophone label. It is part of a lot of 10 early Beatles singles.”

Beatles more popular than Elvis at auction

“The Beatles have triumphed over rival rock ‘n’ roll legend Elvis Presley at an American auction – suits worn by the Fab Four sold but the King’s lot failed to attract big enough bids.
The four suits Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr donned for the cover of their Please Please Me album sold for $110,000 (83,500 pounds) at Bonhams in Los Angeles.”
