The product description: “When Barbie visits Star City, she needn’t worry about crime when Dinah Lance, the Black Canary, is on the case! With her comics-authentic costume of black leather jacket, black fishnet stockings, and black thigh boots, Barbie’s friend Black Canary will keep the criminal element at bay!”

We were probably one of the last people on the planet to see “The Dark Knight”, but we finally went down to the local IMAX on Friday and caught the afternoon matinee.

There’s no question that it was a cinematic tour de force, but at the risk of bringing on the ire of the hardcore fans, we (I) was a little disappointed with the screenplay, as there were some moments that tested the limits of my withholding of incredulity.

That being said, there is no doubt that the late Heath Ledger pulled off on of the most chilling performances I’ve ever seen. When we saw the following figure from Entertainment Earth depicting the Joker in the opening sequence, we (I) knew we had to order one:

“Who’s going to kill the bus driver?” Dumb question! From The Dark Knight, this incredibly detailed figure of the Joker really brings that ruthless scene from the film to life in your living room. He stands about 12-inches tall and features a disquietingly lifelike image of Heath Ledger, along with a surprising assortment of accessories and real cloth clothing. Get on board with this amazing collector’s piece if you dare!

“The magnetic pull of a toyshop is a standard childhood memory. And an early passion for Lego, Action Man or Barbie never quite fades. So it is not surprising that collectible toys are a prime investment, with select examples realising very grown-up prices at auction.

…He says that older items – typically pre-1970s – are the safest bet, provided they are in mint condition and boxed. “Some new toys will rocket in price; most won’t. It is hard to make that call. With older items, you know whether or not there is a market.

…Children’s books are an easy to keep alternative collectible to toys.”

“Toys based on popular television heroes sell well, but often a number of years after the TV show has aired the meaning of the toy has been forgotten. At a Morphy auction in December, a Japanese tin wind-up Superhero Ultraman toy with the original box sold for $575. The 9-inch toy was made by Bullmark of Japan.”
