King Kong Poster

Filed under: — site admin @ 12:08 pm

King KongRandom Treasures Auctions recently held an auction of memorabilia and collectibles, and one of the items up for bids was an Original King Kong Three-Sheet Movie Poster from 1933.

The reserve wasn’t met, and the last bid was at $83,148.00.

Their description:
“The King of movie posters! No other pretender can contest for the throne.
Everything about this fantastic three-sheet poster is regal: its size, its condition, its color, and, most of all, its subject. King Kong opened in New York City on March 2, 1933, uncommonly in two different theaters, the New Roxy and Radio City Music Hall. In four days it grossed $89,931, smashing all previous records.”

You can find an 11″x17″ Masterprint reproduction of that same King Kong poster here at Moviegoods >>
or you can splurge and get a Re-Creation 41″ x 81″ – 3 Sheet King Kong lithograph (different style)

We’re still waiting to see a poster for Peter Jackson’s King Kong set to open December 14th, 2005 from Universal Pictures.
Cast: Naomi Watts, Jack Black, Adrien Brody, Andy Serkis, Jamie Bell, Kyle Chandler, Lobo Chan, Thomas Kretschmann, Evan Parke, Colin Hanks
Directed by: Peter Jackson
