This Terry Gilliam movie snuck right by us – but I guess you had to be in New York to see it when it was released on October 10, 2006. It was rated R for bizarre and disturbing content, but we wouldn’t expect anything less from Gilliam.

After leaving his Italian Stallion franchise sleeping for 16 years, Sylvester Stallone returns with “Rocky Balboa” – the sixth installment in the series of films. Ironically, in a 2002 interview, Stallone confirmed he was still interested in reprising his roles as Rocky Balboa and John Rambo, but feared that he was too old. I guess he laid those fears to rest, as Rambo 4 is slated for a release as well next year.

We’re hooked on this new show which premiered this fall, and are just waiting for it to come on again this evening. “Save the cheerleader – Save the world” is the catch phrase that makes Monday television worth viewing.

One of our favorite characters is Hiro Nakamura (played by Masi Oka) who is an office worker from Tokyo with the ability to manipulate the space-time continuum.

UPDATE Oct 2008: We’re now into season 3, and the wildly successful Tim Kring series is still going strong. This season adds the twist of who are the heroes and who are the villains.

Harsh Times

Christian Bale’s latest flick, Harsh Times got flogged at the box office this weekend, ending up outside the top ten with $1.9 million in 956 theatres. Director David Ayer’s ( Training Day) street drama failed to find much of an audience, while Borat continued it’s number one dominance as it expanded into more theatres over the weekend.

The Harsh Times synopsis goes something like this:
