It looks like director Michael Bay has delivered a true summer blockbuster. Transformers served up an all-time No. 1 Tuesday gross with over $27 milllion and an estimated $36.5 million in its first 28 hours in release. As well, it was the fifth-best opening day of 2007, trailing only Spider-Man 3, Pirates of the Caribbean 3, Shrek the Third and 300.
