This rewrite by director Paul W.S. Anderson, of the original cult classic, “Death Race 2000” which starred David Carradine and Sylvester Stallone opens this weekend from Universal Pictures.

The latest version, which is also known as “Death Race 3000″ stars Jason Statham who takes on the role of of the mythical driver Frankenstein, an ex-con framed for a murder he didn’t commit, and forced to compete in a three-day challenge called “Death Race’ in order to gain his freedom.
