Set during the World War II Japanese occupation of Shanghai in 1942, this startling erotic espionage thriller about the fate of an ordinary woman’s heart, is based on a short story by Chinese author Eileen Chang, and stars Asian cinema icon Tony Leung opposite screen newcomer Tang Wei.

The Descent

Directed by Neil Marshall (he also wrote and directed Dog Soldiers in 2002), this British horror flick opened today on August 4th, 2006, and seems to be picking up some good reviews by both critics and theatre goers alike. Apparently not your usual R-rated blood and gore fest….

Six girlfriends find themselves trapped deep in an unexplored cave where they encounter something else lurking under the earth – a race of monstrous humanoid creatures that are adapted perfectly to life in the dark.

Sympathy for Lady Vengeance

This foreign language drama (Hebrew and Yiddish with English subtitles) had it’s North American Premiere on April 26th, 2005 at the Tribeca Film Festival. It’s official release was on October 19th, 2005 in New York.
