John Cusack plays a skeptical horror novelist (imagine that) who has had a string of bestsellers discrediting paranormal events in the most infamous haunted houses and graveyards around the world.

But that’s about to change when he checks into room 1408 despite the warnings of the hotel manager (Samuel L. Jackson).
