Disney has scored again with their latest tween made-for-TV movie with “Camp Rock“. Two weekends ago on it’s network premiere on the Family Channel in Canada and on the Disney Channel in the United States, it became the second most-watched TV movie for Disney, behind only “High School Musical 2“.

Driven by the popularity of the Jonas Brothers, there are already talks of a sequel, with concert tours and album releases for the stars to follow.

A Prairie Home Companion

Set for a limited release on June 9th, 2006 from Picturehouse, this one comes to us from Robert Altman and throws together an all star cast in a backstage fable about a fictitious (or not actually) radio variety show surviving in the age of television. The film uses the musicians and crew and stage setting of the actual radio show, heard on public radio stations coast to coast for the past quarter-century (and which, in real life, continues to broadcast).
