Hollywoodland is the directorial debut for Allen Coulter, an Emmy nominated director for such TV series as the Soprano’s and Sex in the City. The back story sounds interesting – based on the real life mystery of the murder of George Reeves (Superman) in the 1950′s. …and Ben Affleck plays Reeves, so at least we know he’s the one to get knocked off.

Release date is September 8th, 2006 from Focus Features.

Night Listener

Opening August 4, 2006 from Miramax, this latest Robin Williams film is based on a book by Armistead Maupin, who also co-wrote the screenplay. Williams plays a public radio storyteller who forms an intense phone relationship with a young listener and the social worker who rescued him from a life of abuse. He soon comes to the startling realization that it is quite possible that neither the boy nor his painful account of his childhood really exist.
