Aboriginal art fetches record prices

“SYDNEY (AFP) – Collectors in the United States and France snapped up Aboriginal art at record prices in a Sotheby’s auction in Melbourne which fetched 4.8 million dollars (3.6 million US).
Works by the late Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri, a Central Desert artist, sold for nearly triple the highest amount previously paid for his work, national radio reported Tuesday.”
