Geoff Pevere, Movie Critic
“It was the will of the late Gene Andrewski that other people get what he had, an opportunity to own some of the rarest, boldest and most beautiful movie posters of what he called “Hollywood’s glamour era.”
This Saturday, more than 500 items from the vast Andrewski collection of posters and lobby cards will be go up for auction at Ritchies in Toronto.
…For the aficionado as well as the casual buff, it’s an overwhelming assembly – estimated values between $100 and $5,000 per piece – of vintage pop-cultural arcana.
The collection includes such top-tier classics as Casablanca, The Wizard of Oz (French version: Le Magicien d’Oz) and Frankenstein – expected to be the star of the show and bring upwards of $4,000 – to such savoury obscurities as They Came to Bomb America, Juke Girl and Susan and God.”
