“NEW YORK (AFP) – Six magnums of Burgundy have been sold for more than 170,000 dollars in New York, marking a new world record for a case of wine at auction, Christie’s said.
The six-magnum case of 1985 Romanee-Conti from Burgundy, France, went for 170,375 dollars, the equivalent of more than 14,200 dollars a regular-sized wine bottle. A single magnum is equivalent to two bottles.”
