“SAN ANTONIO (AP) – Six months after their ownership was called into question, a pair of historic Texas documents are bound for the auction block.
Sotheby’s in New York on Friday will take bids on a copy of a letter written by William Barret Travis pleading for backup at the Alamo while pledging “victory or death,” along with another letter that later announced the Texian defenders had lost the March 1836 battle.”
