2005 eBay Holiday Hot List

2005 eBay Holiday Hot List

Dec 4, 2005 | Auctions, Collectibles, eBay

eBay has published their 2005 Holiday Hot List. Here’s their description:

“To help you prepare, we have created a detailed list of products predicted to be in high demand and short supply this holiday season.

To build this list, we used a combination of three approaches:
1. eBay Industry Experts: eBay category managers and the eBay merchandising team are closest to industry news and trends. Because many products that become hot in December are not released until October or November, these teams can help spot potential hot holiday products in advance.
2. Products Heating Up: Analysis of August 2005 eBay sales data was used to identify product categories that already appear to be heating up in advance of the holiday season.
3. Perennially Hot Products: Analysis of prior eBay holiday sales data was used to identify product categories that have been historically popular on eBay during December.

We applied these methodologies to determine products and categories within eBay’s top level-categories of Clothing, Shoes and Accessories; Collectibles; Computers; Consumer Electronics; Cameras & Photo; Cell Phones & Portable Electronics; Home & Living, Home Improvement and Crafts; Jewelry, Gems & Watches; Musical Instruments; Sporting Goods; and Toys & Hobbies.”
