“Christie’s this week auctioned off the personal effects of Marlon Brando. Their pre-sale estimate was $350,000 to $500,000. The auction raised almost $2.4 million…
…The star item was his working script for The Godfather, including 17 pages annotated in pencil with his notes. It sold for $318,000, smashing the previous record for a script, Clark Gable’s copy of Gone with the Wind, which sold in 1996 for $244,000.
The Godfather items were what collectors valued most.”
