“Considering that they’re all dead, it’s been a very good year for Marlon Brando, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley. Indeed, this year should prove a high point in their life-in-death careers.

On Thursday, Christie’s in Manhattan will auction Brando’s personal property – hard on the high heels of a successful sale of Monroe memorabilia at Julien’s Auctions in Los Angeles.

…The recent sale of some 200 items belonging to Monroe made more than $1 million, or roughly three times what Darren Julien, president and CEO of Julien’s Auctions, says he expected.”
