Two Tucsonans join in rare business

“History is speaking from the brown-and-off-white pages of the roughly 24 manuscripts and posters presently arranged in Steve Epstein’s home office. Among them are Civil War-era letters, 19th century mining certificates and a land charter written in 1619 by King James I.
It’s the nature of the business, and of being collectors, that Barkan and Epstein are always on the lookout — frequently attending estate auctions, antiquarian book fairs or Civil War memorabilia shows, hopeful they’ll find something of value.
