“A double magnum of 1865 Chateau Lafite sold for a record $111,625 at auction, Sotheby’s said.
The bottle, which was the oldest in a sale by one owner, was purchased by a European private collector over the telephone, for an average price of $4,650 a glass, the auction house said. The price was nearly triple the highest presale estimate.”
