“The increased interest in service station collectibles in recent years has fueled the marketplace and sparked prices to zoom out of sight. Most glass globes have quadrupled in value during just the past decade. For example, the Red Crown 15-inch globe, which could have been purchased in 1995 for about $150, now sells for well above the $1,000 mark. Other collectibles in this field that have shown dramatic increases include calendars, uniforms and premiums.”
