Determining a valid secondary retail market value for a collectible is more complex than ever. Today value is contingent upon multiple factors. The key is to ask the right questions, the most important of which is: ”who is the potential buyer?”

…In 2005, the end-user once again is dominant. More collectibles are purchased and removed from the market than are bought for resale. However, there no longer is one end-user group dominating the market as collectors did through the mid-1980s.”
