Flat Top Beer Can

Mar 26, 2006 | Auctions, Breweriana, Collectibles, eBay

There’s an auction ending today (March 26, 2006) for a 1947 Regal India Ale IRTP Flat Top Beer Can, S.F., CA.

The seller describes it such:

“One of only 2 Known Indoor Examples; Perhaps Rarest Can. NEAR MINT and ALL ORIGINAL–a truly exciting, rare can in our hobby.

Found in a wall in Berkeley years ago along with one other just like it.

No other indoor examples are known to exist. Take a look at the one in the USBC book–that one is probably the third best example known to exist, and it’s a dumper.”

There’s currently 23 bids topping out at US $4,047.77 with about 5 hours to go.

UPDATE: The auction ended with the reserve not being met, but the high bid was US $8,100.00.
