Last April Sheikh Saud al-Thani of Qatar spent over 15 million ($27.5 million) in a week, and even after this spending spree Oliver Watson, curator of the Museum of Islamic art in Doha being built to house the collection, admitted that beneath the trophies it remained thin compared with established museum collections. So would the Sheikh come back for more?”
