“DAYTON, Ohio – Discovered in an attic, the 50-foot scrap of film runs for only 38 seconds. It may turn out to be rare footage of a silent movie released in 1923. The Library of Congress Motion Picture Conservation Center has done the detective work and reached a conclusion.
But nobody’s talking — for now.
The PBS television show “History Detectives” approached the center in January with the film fragment, which was discovered by an Elsmere, Ky., man in the attic of his grandfather’s Cincinnati home. The film was in a canister labeled “Dangerous Hour -Eddie Polo.”
