“The 1839 Paterson Colt, Model #5, just might be the first of its kind. At the very least it is number seven in the series, and either way, it’s probably worth a fortune. Or, maybe it’s a very good forgery.
Dealing in antique and collectible firearms can most certainly be a crapshoot sometimes. Just ask local dealers Ann and George Mistal. Recently they bought a promising-looking revolver from a fellow, thinking the gun might be one of a rare Colt Firearms breed manufactured in the late 1830s.”
