Salem man collects entertainment history

“Ed Dougherty of Salem, who has spent more than 40 years booking and promoting entertainment on the West Coast, is not a throw-away kind of guy, as you realize in visiting his memorabilia-stuffed basement.
…With the boom in the collectibles market, combined with the aging and growing income of the baby boomers who grew up with the acts Ed Dougherty promoted, this treasure trove of rock and pop memorabilia has drawn covetous eyes.
Paul Allen tried to acquire parts of the collection for his Seattle rock museum, and Jan Dougherty recalls someone who called from the airport, saying they had $20,000 and wanted to buy some of her husband’s collection.”
