Chip Cordelli: American handicrafts from the 1950s. ‘I call it ‘Lucy and Ricky go to the Country’ Chic.’ Also, anything related to the movies. ‘Hollywoodiana will always be collectible, because that’s our nation’s most famous product.’
Sandra Ellington: Star Wars memorabilia. ‘Products from these movies (in unopened boxes, please) sent a whole new world of science fiction collectors over the moon.’ Also, Disney toys from the 1940s. ‘These bring phenomenal prices; they’re better than blue-chip stocks.’
Frank Farbenbloom: Italian housewares. ‘Every time I go to Italy, I can’t get over the toasters and kettles from companies like Alessi. The Italians are wonderful at stuff like this.’ Also, glass from Swedish companies such as Orrefors and Kosta Boda. ‘I am married 48 years. One of our wedding gifts was a piece of Swedish glass. Now, it’s very collectible.’
Michael Merson: Rebajes Jewelry. ‘In the 1930s through ’50s, Rebajes designed and produced inexpensive copper jewelry. They are now much-prized, and have maintained their popularity and collectibility.”
